CMW This and That… January 2023

Werlinger-Freedom to the Wild, 17X21, Watercolor

2023 has arrived! The CMW Board has been working to set up a fun-filled schedule of meetings, demos, a fall workshop, shows, a painting retreat (spots still available), and sales venue opportunities for this coming year. Be sure to pay attention to announcements this year and take advantage of the many of the opportunities that are being scheduled and offered for your benefit. If you have any questions, contact a board member (click on the “About” tab on the website…then click on “2023 Board”)

First off, if you haven’t paid your dues for 2023, please take care of that soon! Contact our Treasurer Ralph Carpenter at ralphcarp@gmail.com or complete your registration on the website: https://centralmnwatercolorists.org and click on the membership tab.

ALSO NOTE: There is no January CMW meeting. Instead, use this time to complete your “Presidents’ Challenge” painting for our Monday, February 13th meeting at the Paramount. The theme selected by our Co-Presidents, Arlette Twedt and Diane Runberg, is “Out of the Darkness, Into the Light”. Start working on your creative interpretation and come to the February meeting to share your painting with other members …or you can bring something else you are working on to share. Plan to attend as it’s a fun event.

Check out the new Carousel (member’s paintings that were shown at the St. Cloud Hospital show) on the CMW website….located in middle of the main page https://centralmnwatercolorists.org

Also on our Website, click on the Member Gallery tab as Kerry Kupferschmidt is the newest member to update his gallery. Be sure to take a peek at his page and gallery-it can also be found by clicking on this link: https://centralmnwatercolorists.org/kerry-kupferschmidt/ Please consider adding (updating) your page to the gallery. Contact Paula Tift if you want to add or update your Member Gallery paulatift@yahoo.com To make the process less overwhelming, consider starting with a few paintings and add more as you go.

Happy painting to each of you on these shorter winter days…before we know it, the days will be getting longer and warmer…let’s keep that happy thought!
