CMW Opportunities and Upcoming Events…

Wilson – Jay

Greetings to CMW members! By now most of you have paid your dues for 2023…if not, you have until the CMW February 13th meeting to do so. After that date, CMW’s Membership List for 2023 will be updated with the current 2023 paid members.

Speaking of the February meeting, Monday, February 13th, at that Paramount, remember to complete and bring your painting that depicts the Co-Presidents’ (Diane Runberg and Arlette Twedt) theme of “Out of the Darkness, Into the Light” or another piece of artwork that you would like to share with the group.

*NOTE 2 ROOMS STILL AVAILABLE for the CMW MEMBER”S ANNUAL PAINTING RETREAT: From May 1st through the 4th, CMW has the reservation made for our annual painting retreat at Riverside Inn in Cold Spring. Fourteen rooms have been reserved. The payment for our rooms allows us to use the large conference room for our painting activities. There is a warm swimming pool and sauna for us to enjoy in a tropical-themed room and unique décor in each of the motel rooms. A complimentary breakfast is included for each morning during the retreat. There is a kitchen and refrigerator adjacent to the conference room and microwaves and mini refrigerators in each room. There are multiple places to eat out, as well, and always a group of people to go with. If you want a room for yourself, the cost is $260. If you share a room, the cost is $210 each. We ask for a down payment of half the cost of the room by the February meeting and the balance by the April meeting. If you have any questions, contact Pat Spence. Deposits can be made with Ralph Carpenter. We have had a wonderful time together each year and hope that you will join us!!

*ART IN MOTION WITH DAN MONDLOCH: Pat Spence has informed me that a few of our CMW members have been receiving art instruction from Dan Mondloch each Wednesday morning at Art in Motion in Holdingford. She thought others may be interested in joining in and says, “He takes registrations before the start of each month and will continue as long as there is interest. He starts each class with a critique of our homework and then we do quadrant exercises to break down and practice techniques for difficult elements of the painting. I have learned so much from him and the group is fun.”
