CMW Co-President’s Message – Arlette Twedt

Arlette Twedt President’s Challenge 2023

CMW members,

It is exciting to be your new CMW Co-President, as you can see I am CO-president along with Diane Runberg. I was asked by Kerry last fall to consider being president. Although I officially retired from the Veterans Medical Center in 2011, after 35 years, I took on a new job that same year. So still working part-time I was a bit hesitant to take on this new challenge. I told Kerry the only way I could take on this position would be if someone else shared the position. So here I am, it is a busy position but, we made it through our first CMW member meeting for 2023. And so I enter this new year with confidence in my CMW commitment and ability to serve you, our CMW members.

Our workshops and exhibits are a wonderful part of CMW. The workshops Sandra Theis has put together look very promising. We are also continuing to line up shows to exhibit our work, as in the past. Our first exhibit this year is starting in April/May with the Good Shepherd Show followed by May/June at Whitney Senior Center. Also hopeful on finalizing shows with Munsinger Art in the Gardens, Falcon Bank, Millstream to name a few. If you know of any other venues that might be interested in exhibiting our works, please contact one of our board members. If you have an artist who you would like to see do a demonstration and/or workshop for us, please let us know. Just email one of us and we will do our best.

Our February meeting went very well with 18 members present. It was the President’s Challenge: “ Let the light shine through”. I think everyone enjoys “Show and Tell” sessions & member moments. Each member talked about their painting, offering their technique, tips and tricks they have discovered through their process. See their artwork below! Click on the image to see the full picture.

Thanks again and Keep painting, follow your heART!
