"Though I am proficient in opaque and transparent mediums, watercolor has become my main focus after several workshops with David Smith, Andy Evansen, Keiko Tanabe, Dan Wiemer and Dan Mondloch. I find fascinating subjects in many places, including the landscapes of northern and central Minnesota, as well as cityscapes and small-town scenes where I can practice my perspective skills. I am especially inspired by the play of light across a scene. It gives me an opportunity to create an interesting and well-designed work of art. Light and shadow can enhance values as well, which is an essential element in watercolors and opaque media as well.
Painting has become a daily joy for me and an essential part of my routine. Creating art is always a new adventure for me, waiting to be explored!" -Kerry Kupferschmidt
